Baguette with Butter & Prosciutto

This authentic butter and prosciutto sandwich will have you imagining you're dining al fresco in Europe, the rich butter, delicate prosciutto, and crisp baguette taking your taste buds on a vacation.

  • 2 La Brea Bakery French Baguettes, cut into four 7-inch pieces and sliced in half
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 ounces imported prosciutto, thinly sliced

For scallion oil:

  • 1/3 cup scallion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Italian parsley leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt to taste

To make the scallion oil:

  1. Blend scallion, parsley, olive oil, and kosher salt.
  2. Set aside.

To assemble the sandwiches:

  1. Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter on the bottom half of each baguette.
  2. Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of scallion oil over the butter on each baguette.
  3. Place around 6 slices of prosciutto on top of butter/scallion mixture on each.
  4. Place the top slices over the prosciutto, and gently squeeze the sandwich together.
  5. Serve.
