Make Work-From-Home Lunches Something to Look Forward To!

Working from home doesn’t mean you’re stuck with a sad desk lunch. With La Brea Bakery artisan breads, you have endless options for midday meals that are quick to prepare and will get you ready for the second half of your workday with a smile!

Here are three of our favorite tasty recipes from our new cookbook:

Open-Faced Golden Beet Tartine

Open-Faced Golden Beet Tartine


  • 8 slices of La Brea Bakery French Loaf
  • 6 small golden beets, washed and trimmed
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 8 oz. herbed chèvre cheese
  • Optional: Spinach and avocado in season for a heartier sandwich


  • Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Cut beets in half; drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Place beets on aluminum foil; top with parchment paper, wrap and seal. Bake 40-45 minutes or until tender.
  • Remove beets from the oven and let cool. Use a paper towel to rub off the skin. Slice and set aside.
  • Toast bread and spread with chèvre cheese.
  • Layer beets on top; season with salt and pepper

Prep Tip: Bake beets and remove the skin the day before.
